Tim Holtz - 12.5" / 31.5cm Rotary Media Trimmer - 3960e

After 6 months in its box I have the time to use it, seeing the other reviews I don't know if my guillotine is damaged or there are some special instructions for its use, it cuts papers wonderfully but when I tried with the 1.5mm and 2mm cardboard it just got stuck, I hurt my hand and suffered to get the cardboard out, it just bit the cardboard and damaged it, I'm not happy with this product since the reason I bought it was to use it with 1.5mm or 2mm cardboard

Over the years I have had many trimmers. Some I have mourned purely because I can no longer purchase the cutting strips or the blades. As I tend to use heavy weight card and greyboard I tend to use a hand blade. When TH launched this trimmer it has been a dream to use. The cut sounds like a guillotine and it’s clean. The blade is safely encased, handle ergonomically designed for comfort and little effort needed. Really impressive and now my new best friend in my craft room!

Very precise well made cutter. I have a few of different sizes and his meets all my demanding standards for craft material.

After buying an 8” guillotine which I found so useful for cutting smaller card I didn’t think I needed this, but it’s well worth the money and sadly I rarely use the 8” even for small pieces of card. It’s a robust trimmer, cuts so easy and accurately and I can even cut 1/4” so quickly - maybe not a good idea as I now have a growing stash of them!😂 This trimmer is one piece of equipment I wouldn’t be without.

Works well although came with no instructions and box unsealed. Tonic customer service however wasn't good. After 9 days after ordering, I had to chase my order as no despatch email received. They had IT issues so fair enough but still no despatch email arrived before parcel arrived about 2 weeks after ordering.

This is nearly the perfect trimmer for me. Perfect would have been with no Rulers at top and bottom (for me too far away from the paper), but 2-3 rulers on the base, 1 in the middle, the others near the creases/ increases(?)

Absolutely love this trimmer, finally found one where I don't need to use fine grit paper to smooth edges after cutting. Highly recommended

I've been struggling with a cricut trimmer which has a habit of shredding paper even with a new blade. This is amazing. Perfect cut every time. Great investment,even better as I got it with the tonic 25% discount event

Cuts like butter and so easy to measure your requirements

It cuts beautifully especially through greyboard and tonic speciallity papers which I have tons of and none of my quillotines or cutting could cut through them properly with out snagging. It’s taking a while to get used to cutting exact measurements but that is totally on my part. Eyesight not 100% plus I think where it’s positioned in my craft room think it’s a bit high for me. So will have to rearrange to a lower part of the room. ❤️

Really like this trimmer it cuts with ease and very smooth cuts on both sides of the paper. Tiny learning curve to begin with, you have to make sure you tilt the blade handle at the bottom so it touches the metal edge then you get perfect cuts every time. This is how it’s intended to be used after a quick look at the Tim Holtz YouTube Channel :-)

I have another branded rotary trimmer but it annoyed me that the 6" mark fell in the extension fold. Thought I'd give this a try as the 6" marking is on the main grid.

It's very lightweight compared to my other one but I don't think it cuts as well.

It took several attempts to get a clean edge on Vicki Boutin Foundations paper.

If you're cutting thin strips they fall into the gully under the blade and are a pain to get out.

It well sell well because of the name but I don't think its worth the full price.

Maybe it'll just take me time to get used to this one, or it'll be another trimmer confined to the shelf as I continue my quest for cutting perfection.

Tim has hit it out of the park with this one, just remember to hold the grip correctly and you will get a perfect cut every time, on all paper/card weights including chip board and vellum.
