Hello everyone! Galina here today with you and I’m happy to share a new card and some new tips to use Nuvo shimmer powders to create bright backgrounds.
I love to create card backgrounds with ombre effect and the easiest way for me to create this is using watercolour pens or shimmer powders.
This time I decided to use shimmer powders because I want my background to be bright, colourful and with a lot of shine.
For this card I used Tonic Studios – Monarch & Princess Wings Die Set, it consists of two beautiful butterflies dies and I used them both on my card. I also used ‘Dream Will’s hand die set” and a few clear stamps from the Adorables stamps collection.
This card measures 5 1/2x 4 1/4 inches but you can create it in any size.
We first create the card background using Shimmer powders. I cut a piece of watercolour paper a little bit smaller than my cards base. I spray water over the card panel and add shimmer powders: Solar Flare, Cherry Bomb, Lilac Waterfall.
Then, I cut out three butterflies from gold glitter and black gloss cardstock. I adhere them on a card using liquid glue. To embellish my card I decided to use small leaves.
Next, I stamped about 10 leaves. I coloured them with alcohol markers and I fussy cut them using scissors. I didn’t use coordinating dies because I wanted my leaves without white border this time.
I finished my card by adding Dream Drops and shimmer on leaves with Aqua shimmer pen.
