Is it really February already?! I've been so busy the past few weeks with various projects I've only just managed to take photos of my second (I've made 5!) card using the AMAZING Tonic Craft Kit 06. All the information about the monthly craft kits are HERE
The kit comes in gorgeous hues of blue but I wanted to make something that would take me out of winter and into Spring. The weather here has been ghastly so dug through my papers to add to the dies in the craft kit, as well as the Green Meadow Glitter. Craft Kit 06 is HUGE! There is so much in it, you can make card after card after card.
Tonic Products Used
Craft Perfect Card: Kraft Card, Ultra Smooth Media Card
Nuvo Drops: Crystal Drops Copper Penny, Glitter Drops Golden Sunset
Craft Perfect Green/White Twine
Craft Perfect Foam Pads
Top tip: Glitter can be difficult and getting thick coverage is a bit of a mare. However, if you stick with it and keep patting down 3-4 times, covering again without adding more glue you will end up with yummy glittery deliciousness. These self adhesive sheets are really thin so I like to put watercolour or thick card die cut behind it to give it depth. This makes all the difference when you are paper piecing as the layers lie in line with the rest of the image.
Some of the detail with the Green Meadow Glitter and Golden Sunset Glitter Drops. You can also see that by adding the thick card behind your self adhesive glitter die cuts, they are flush with the rest of the project.
Words have been cut out from the same paper pad for a coordinated look.
I have some wonderfully bright chevron ribbon that was perfect.
And the finished card, which was made for someone who is going to be travelling through Europe for two years before starting her PhD. I love making cards outside normal celebratory occasions.
The back is also big enough for a message as you can layer with white.
And that's about it from me until next week. Thanks so much for stopping by. Please leave me a comment and a link to your blog as I love visiting my crafty bloggers.
See you soon
Lots of love and hugs
